One Page Productions
One Page Productions is an artist book printing press founded by Woody Leslie in 2008.
While our books come in several different shapes and sizes, and cover a range of genres from poetry to pornography, the unifying feature about all of them is their two-dimensional area. Each book is made from only a single sheet of 8.5" x 11" paper--187 square inches per book, period.
1Pp's original conception was to design books for cheap and easy mass-production. The one page formats lend themselves not only to simple reproduction, but also, thanks to their small size, to easy distribution. The first set of books were zipped off on a black and white photocopier, mailed to friends, handed out to strangers, snuck onto the shelves of bookstores and libraries, and even left on public transportation.
A high quality printer and digital software allowed for more complicated projects and cut costs, which led to the twin themes of 1Pp's exploration: content, and quantity. Content-wise, there is infinite potential for the number of different kinds of books that can be made, and size is no obstacle for us in the genres we have already tackled. Quantity-wise, it is a whole different ball game when you can easily have 300 copies of a book instead of 3. The potential for what can be done with a multitude is as vast as what can be made into a multitude.
